About this role
Whelen Engineering is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead third-shift operations at its Chester, Connecticut facility. Working Sunday through Friday from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am, you'll oversee one or more production teams, managing individual contributors and potentially other supervisors or group leaders. Your core responsibilities include monitoring production schedules and output, auditing work processes to ensure specifications are met, maintaining production records, and training and evaluating staff. You'll also prepare and manage budgets and staffing decisions for your area while coordinating priorities with other supervisors to keep operations running smoothly and cost-effectively.
This role suits someone with supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment who is comfortable with overnight shift work and can communicate clearly with a diverse team. You'll spend roughly 80% of your time in a leadership capacity—setting direction, solving problems, and ensuring quality—rather than performing hands-on production work. The position requires compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and an ability to identify and report unsafe conditions. Salary ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 based on your experience and qualifications.
