About this role
Langan is looking for an air quality specialist to lead permitting and modeling work across a national client base from a remote position in Austin. You'd own the technical side of air quality projects—running dispersion models like AERMOD and MOVES, calculating emissions, preparing permit applications for Title V and PSD compliance, and translating complex analyses into clear recommendations for both clients and regulatory agencies. The work spans environmental impact assessments, renewable energy and infrastructure projects, and addressing air quality concerns tied to development.
The role requires at least four years of hands-on experience in air quality permitting and modeling, a bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering, atmospheric sciences, or a related field, and demonstrated proficiency with standard modeling software. You'll need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences. A PE, FE, or EIT certification is valued. The position involves occasional site visits and some evening or weekend availability, though the base work is Monday through Friday.
Langan positions this as a learning-focused opportunity within a multidisciplinary team across 50+ offices nationwide. The firm offers competitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) matching; paid time off; professional development reimbursement; and flexible scheduling. Salary ranges from $76,000 to $110,000 depending on experience and credentials.
