About Jetson
Jetson is on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100 million homes across North America away from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy use. We believe in a future that is 100% electric and 100% better.
Homes are one of the largest sources of carbon emissions, yet adoption of solutions like heat pumps remains slow due to cost and complexity. Jetson is solving this by building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company — making clean energy simple, transparent, and affordable.
We rely heavily on technology, automation, and data to scale this impact. At Jetson, we value people who are excellent at their craft, curious about new tools (including AI), and motivated to continuously improve how work gets done.
The Opportunity:
Ready to do the most meaningful electrical work of your career? At Jetson, we're on a mission to get every home off gas — and Nashville is one of the best places in the country to make that happen. As one of our first boots on the ground in Tennessee, you won't just be running wire: you'll be helping us build the playbook. You'll work alongside a tight-knit install team to remove gas furnaces, bring in electric heat pump systems, and collaborate directly with our engineering team to sharpen our process and push our product forward. If you're the kind of electrician who takes pride in clean work, loves solving problems in the field, and wants to be part of something bigger than a service call — this is your seat at the table.
What You'll Do:
- Install all electrical infrastructure required to support heat pump systems — done right, on every job
- Perform load calculations and design code-compliant solutions that actually work in the real world
- Upgrade main electrical panels as needed, including smart panels, splitters, and sub-panel configurations
- Pull permits and own the inspection process end-to-end across TN jurisdictions
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on-site and perform necessary repairs with speed and precision
- Coordinate with HVAC install crews and collaborate across trade lines to keep jobs moving efficiently
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and flag issues before they become problems
- Test electrical systems for functionality, performance, and code compliance
- Spot recurring inefficiencies in the install process and bring solutions to the team
- Maintain strict compliance with NEC and local electrical codes
What You Bring:
- Master Electrician license with the ability to pull permits across Tennessee jurisdictions
- Deep residential install experience, including service upgrades, panel work, and large load additions (heat pumps, EV chargers, etc.)
- Fluency in modern panel technology — smart panels (Span, Leviton, Schneider, etc.), splitters, and sub-panel configurations
- Ability to perform accurate load calculations using standard and optional methods
- Comfort working in older homes and navigating the surprises that come with legacy wiring
- Experience coordinating with HVAC crews or working on multi-trade jobs
- Solid troubleshooting instincts — you diagnose problems methodically and fix them cleanly
- Physical stamina for hands-on residential install work
- Valid driver's license
- Follows OSHA Electrical Standard
- Prior experience with heat pump or HVAC-related electrical installs (preferred)
- Familiarity with cold-climate heat pump systems (preferred)
- Experience on gas-to-electric conversion projects (preferred)
- Actively staying current on electrification codes and equipment trends (preferred)

About this role
Jetson is building the infrastructure to electrify homes across North America, and they're looking for a Master Electrician in Nashville to help establish their operations in Tennessee. This role centers on the electrical side of converting homes from gas to electric heat pump systems — installing panels, running circuits, performing load calculations, pulling permits, and coordinating with HVAC crews. You'd be working hands-on with modern smart panel technology (Span, Leviton, Schneider) and handling everything from service upgrades to troubleshooting on-site, all while maintaining NEC and local code compliance.
What sets this apart is the emphasis on process improvement. Beyond executing individual jobs cleanly, Jetson wants you to spot inefficiencies in their install workflow and bring solutions back to the team. You'll work alongside a small, tight-knit crew and collaborate directly with engineering — this isn't a typical service call environment. The company is explicit that they value electricians who take pride in their craft and are curious about how work gets done better.
You'll need a current Master Electrician license with permit-pulling authority in Tennessee, solid experience with residential service upgrades and panel work, and comfort diagnosing and fixing electrical problems methodically. Prior heat pump or gas-to-electric conversion work is preferred but not required. The role pays $46–$51 per hour plus a $1,000 monthly stipend for license holders, with strong benefits including 85% health insurance coverage, full dental and vision, 10 PTO days, and a company-wide closure from December 24 through January 1.
