About this role
Relativity Space is seeking an experienced manufacturing accounting leader to establish financial controls and reporting infrastructure at their Stennis production facility as they scale from development into rate-based rocket manufacturing. You'll own plant-level financial results across inventory, production costs, fixed assets, and capital projects while partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to translate manufacturing activity into actionable financial insights. This role requires building accounting processes and a site team capable of supporting a complex, capital-intensive transition—one where your hands-on presence in operations and ability to investigate financial results at the operational level will directly shape how the business scales.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial manufacturing background, ideally in aerospace, defense, or similarly engineered environments. You'll need deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, standard costing, manufacturing variances, and inventory accounting, combined with proven success building or strengthening controls and processes in growing or transitioning manufacturing operations. A CPA, CMA, or MBA is valued, as is familiarity with complex manufacturing ERPs and experience supporting the shift from low-rate to repeatable production.
This is a full-time, in-office position at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, requiring U.S. government background clearance. The salary range is $158,000–$238,000, with equity, generous PTO, parental leave, and an annual learning stipend as part of the total package.
