About this role

Ascension's Nashville hospitalist position offers inpatient obstetric care within an established team of four providers managing a high-volume women's health service. You would serve as lead attending for complex labor, delivery, and postpartum cases, including high-risk obstetric conditions, at a 683-bed acute care facility that recently opened a new Women's Hospital Pavilion. The role operates on a rotating call schedule as a full-time employed physician within a nonprofit Catholic health system.

The position suits board-certified or board-eligible OB/GYNs seeking practice stability within a larger integrated network. Ascension emphasizes physician-led culture, shift protections, flexible scheduling, and administrative support as deliberate responses to burnout. You would work alongside established colleagues rather than building a practice solo, with access to the system's national resources while maintaining local autonomy. The facility serves approximately 730,000 people and supports specialty care across multiple disciplines, including recent expansions in ICU and surgical capabilities.

Candidates must hold or be eligible for Tennessee medical licensure and DEA registration, with MD or DO credentials required. This is an employed position offering the stability of a nonprofit health system with mission-centered care as its foundation.
