About this role
Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton is building out its cardiovascular surgery program and seeking a PA to join an established surgical team. You'd work a 1:3 rotating call schedule with flexible scheduling and shared holidays, splitting your time across the OR as a surgical first assistant, inpatient and ICU rounding, and outpatient clinic follow-ups. The role combines independent clinical decision-making—conducting assessments, ordering diagnostics, and managing treatment plans—with preventative care and patient education across the full surgical continuum.
The position requires Wisconsin PA licensure and BLS certification (Advanced Life Support preferred), with at least one year of clinical experience. Vein harvesting experience is strongly preferred. You'd practice within a 350-bed nonprofit facility that's a certified stroke and chest pain center with Level III trauma designation, supported by dedicated cardiovascular ICU teams, advanced surgical suites, and an integrated Epic system. Ascension emphasizes provider collaboration, long-term stability, and mission-centered care within a national Catholic health system that maintains local autonomy.
