About this role
Ascension's hematology oncology team in Indianapolis is seeking a nurse practitioner to work alongside four physicians and one other APP in a mixed inpatient and outpatient setting. You would round on hospitalized cancer patients, manage outpatient evaluations and treatment planning, provide coverage at the chemotherapy infusion center, and serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff on protocols and symptom management. Call is optional rather than mandatory, giving you flexibility to pick up shifts as you choose.
This is an employed position within a large nonprofit health system that operates an 86-bed Cancer Center and serves roughly 880,000 people across Indianapolis. You'll have access to established EMR systems (Athena and Sunrise Clinical Manager) and work within an integrated referral network. The role emphasizes collaborative, physician-led practice culture and long-term stability within a mission-driven Catholic health organization.
To qualify, you need a master's degree in nursing, current Indiana RN licensure, and board certification or eligibility as a nurse practitioner. You'll need to obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire and Indiana prescriptive authority credentials within six months. This position suits an experienced oncology clinician comfortable moving between inpatient and outpatient settings and ready to join an established team.
