About this role
Ascension's Jacksonville outpatient clinic is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to deliver routine prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic care. You'll conduct comprehensive maternal assessments—including blood pressure monitoring, fetal heart tone checks, nutritional evaluations, and prenatal risk screenings—while identifying high-risk pregnancies and coordinating escalation to OB/GYN or Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists as needed. The role emphasizes continuity of care across the prenatal and postpartum periods, with responsibilities that include lactation education, breastfeeding support, and family planning counseling.
To qualify, you must hold current RN licensure, AMCB certification as a Nurse Midwife, and a valid BLS Provider credential (obtained within 30 days of your start date if not already held). Note that the posting lists an MD or DO as a required education credential, which appears inconsistent with the CNM role and may warrant clarification with the hiring team before applying. This is a full-time, in-office position within Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system recognized for workplace culture and military-friendly employment practices.
