About this role
Ascension's 528-bed medical center in Jacksonville is building out a thrombectomy-ready neuroendovascular program and seeking a neurointensivist to lead comprehensive neurocritical care within that expanding service line. You would manage high-acuity inpatient ICU cases while collaborating across neuroendovascular, neurosurgery, neurology, and emergency medicine to shape acute stroke pathways and program protocols. This is an employed position within a large nonprofit health system, offering the stability and resources of a national network alongside local autonomy.
The role requires board certification or eligibility in Neurology, fellowship training in Neurocritical Care Medicine, and eligibility for Florida medical licensure and DEA registration. You'll be working in an inpatient setting serving a population of roughly one million through an integrated referral network, supported by a physician-led collaborative culture. Ascension emphasizes mission-centered care and long-term practice stability, and the facility itself sits on the St. Johns River in a well-established medical center.
