About this role

Ascension's Family Medicine opening in Racine offers the chance to build a primary care practice within an established clinic team that includes another family medicine physician, internal medicine colleagues, and mid-level support. You would manage your own outpatient panel while working in a setting with a 1:1 medical assistant ratio and a predominantly commercial and Medicare patient population. The role centers on delivering comprehensive primary care, coordinating specialist referrals and hospital transitions, and contributing to quality improvement efforts across the clinic and health system.

This position suits a physician comfortable with autonomous practice in an outpatient setting who is also willing to engage in system-level initiatives. You'll need an MD or DO with Wisconsin licensure and Advanced Life Support certification. Ascension emphasizes physician-led collaboration and long-term stability, operating as part of a national nonprofit Catholic health system while maintaining local autonomy. Racine itself is experiencing population growth and economic development, which may appeal to those seeking a community with expanding opportunity.
