About this role
Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis is seeking a maternal fetal medicine physician to join an established team practicing consultative obstetrics at a Level 4 perinatal center. The role emphasizes office-based work with manageable call coverage—every fourth week and weekend, home-based with no in-house requirements. You would manage complex prenatal cases ranging from consultation-only to comprehensive care, with deliveries handled by OB hospitalists, allowing you to focus on the diagnostic and consultative aspects of maternal fetal medicine.
The practice operates with substantial clinical support: two genetic counselors, dedicated nurse navigators, 10 on-site sonographers (four with echo certification), and GE E10 ultrasound machines. You would also engage in teaching with OB and family medicine residents, contribute to case presentations and departmental education, and potentially provide statewide education. The program includes a well-established fetal and neonatal palliative care service for families facing life-limiting fetal anomalies.
Compensation is competitive and includes a $20K commencement bonus, up to $50K in loan forgiveness, quality incentives up to $25K, production bonuses, generous paid time off, CME support, and a 403(b) retirement plan with employer match. Malpractice coverage with tail protection and relocation assistance are provided. Candidates must hold an MD or DO with Indiana medical licensure prior to hire and maintain current Advanced Life Support certification.
