About this role
Ascension's neurosurgery team in Austin is seeking a PA to join an established inpatient practice with five physicians and thirteen advanced practice providers. You would manage patient care across the full treatment spectrum, from acute intervention through long-term follow-up, while translating complex medical information for patients and families to support informed decision-making and engagement with community resources. The role sits within a large nonprofit health system that emphasizes physician-led collaboration and mission-centered care.
The position requires PA licensure and NCCPA certification prior to hire, along with BLS certification within your first month. Two to three years of neurosurgery experience is preferred, though a master's degree is also preferred rather than required. You'd be employed directly by Ascension, gaining access to the stability and national network resources of a major Catholic health system while maintaining local autonomy in Austin.
