About this role

Ascension's Baltimore hematology oncology practice offers an established outpatient role within a 254-bed teaching hospital connected to a dedicated Cancer Institute. You would join six physicians and four advanced practice providers, managing a diverse general hematology and oncology patient panel while leading clinical oversight of the Immunotherapy Clinic and chemotherapy infusion area. The position emphasizes clinical autonomy to pursue subspecialty interests while drawing on comprehensive multidisciplinary resources including on-site radiation oncology, care navigation, social work, and financial counseling.

The call structure is light—1:6 weekend coverage, mostly from home—and the role sits within Ascension's national nonprofit Catholic health system, which emphasizes physician-led collaboration and local practice stability. You would need board certification or eligibility in Hematology/Oncology, an MD or DO, Maryland medical licensure prior to hire, and Advanced Life Support certification. This is an employed position suited to someone seeking a stable, well-resourced practice environment with built-in referral networks and the backing of a larger health system.
