About this role
Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee is seeking an OB/GYN physician to join an eight-person clinical team serving a comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic patient population. You would practice across both inpatient and outpatient settings, managing routine and high-risk pregnancies, gynecologic conditions, and surgical cases with access to robotic-assisted technology. The hospital operates a 16-bed labor and delivery unit, a 54-bed Level III NICU, and a family birth center, supported by on-site maternal-fetal medicine specialists, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, and breast surgery consultants.
The call structure is 1:8 days with 24-hour in-house coverage at St. Joseph Hospital and a post-call day off. Beyond direct patient care, the role includes teaching responsibilities through the hospital's OB/GYN residency program, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and consultation work as needed. You would manage documentation for insurance requirements and handle claim appeals, coordinate with case management on discharge planning, and contribute to the hospital's academic mission.
This position requires an MD or DO, Wisconsin medical licensure, and Advanced Life Support certification. Ascension emphasizes physician leadership, collaborative culture, and mission-centered care within a national Catholic health system that maintains local practice autonomy.
