About this role
Ascension's Labor and Delivery unit in Baltimore is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct clinical care during one of the most critical moments in patients' lives. You would manage the full scope of labor and delivery nursing—monitoring maternal and fetal conditions in real time, coordinating care across obstetric and neonatal teams, communicating findings clearly to physicians and specialists, and ensuring meticulous documentation throughout. Beyond the delivery itself, you would develop and execute discharge plans that set families up for a safe transition home, advocating for each patient's needs from admission through departure.
This role requires a Maryland-licensed RN with a minimum of one year in acute care settings, along with current BLS certification (obtained within 30 days of hire). While advanced certifications in neonatal resuscitation and the S.T.A.B.L.E. Program are preferred, they are not mandatory at entry. You'll work full-time in a hospital setting as part of a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce and recognized among the top places to work in healthcare.
