About this role

Ascension's pediatric hospitalist program in Indianapolis offers an employed position within a well-established team of 13 physicians at a 197-bed children's hospital. You would provide inpatient care to pediatric patients with complex medical and surgical conditions, manage procedural sedations, and work alongside pediatric subspecialists and surgeons. The facility includes dedicated units for critical care, burns, and trauma, supported by advanced infrastructure and a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center designation serving a two-million-person region.

Beyond direct patient care, the role carries significant educational responsibility—you would supervise pediatric residents and medical students while serving as medical control authority for the pediatric ground transport team. Call structure is subject to negotiation during interviews. The position requires board certification or eligibility in pediatrics, an Indiana medical license, and DEA registration prior to hire.

This is an employed role within Ascension's nonprofit Catholic health system, which emphasizes physician-led collaboration and long-term practice stability across its national network. The Indianapolis location provides access to Indiana's largest not-for-profit integrated health system and its referral network.
