About this role

Ascension's flagship Indianapolis hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its cardiology inpatient service alongside one physician. This is a consultative hospitalist role focused on managing acute cardiac patients across progressive care and critical care settings, with no formal call schedule. You'll work autonomously within a collaborative, physician-led environment at a Level 1 Trauma Center that houses a comprehensive Heart Center and Transplant Center.

The position requires board certification or eligibility in advanced practice, Indiana state licensure, and a master's degree in nursing. You'll need BLS certification within 30 days of hire and NP prescriptive authority credentialing within six months. While one year of clinical experience is preferred, the role emphasizes your ability to manage complex, high-acuity patients independently. Ascension provides malpractice coverage, CME support, and an excellent salary as part of its national nonprofit Catholic health system.

This opportunity suits someone seeking stability in a mission-driven environment with access to a robust referral network and Centers of Excellence, without the demands of a traditional call schedule.
