About this role
Ascension's Nashville echocardiography position centers on performing diagnostic cardiac imaging studies with precision and clinical judgment. You'll operate transducers and adjust technical parameters to capture high-quality images, then identify pathologies and anatomical structures in real time to support radiologist diagnoses. The role demands both technical skill and patient-facing competence—positioning patients comfortably, communicating clearly, and maintaining a safe, empathetic environment throughout each procedure.
Beyond image acquisition, you'll validate image quality and patient records in PACS to ensure the medical team has immediate access to accurate data, and you'll maintain rigorous safety and quality control standards to meet regulatory requirements. This is a full-time, in-office role within a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce.
To qualify, you'll need a high school diploma or equivalent plus two years of relevant experience, an associate's or technical degree, or four years of directly applicable job experience. You must obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire and hold one of several cardiac or sonography credentials—from CCI, ARRT, or ARDMS—within six months. If you have the required certification pathway and clinical background, this role offers the chance to contribute directly to patient care in a structured healthcare environment.
