About this role

Ascension's Nashville hospitalist program offers a nocturnist position within an established 45+ physician team at a 541-bed facility recognized nationally for stroke care and cardiovascular excellence. You'd manage overnight admissions averaging 8+ per night across a 100-patient census, supported by APP and RN cross-coverage during evening shifts. The role involves 10–15 shifts monthly as a full-time employed physician within a nonprofit Catholic health system serving roughly one million residents.

Compensation combines salary, RVU productivity incentives, and quality metrics in a 45/45/10 split, with malpractice tail coverage included. The position requires MD or DO credentials with Tennessee medical licensure and DEA registration prior to hire. Ascension emphasizes physician-led collaboration, long-term stability, and mission-centered care; the system also offers CME allowance and dedicated CME days, plus access to ambient listening AI technology.

This role suits an experienced nocturnist or hospitalist comfortable with high-volume overnight census management and seeking stability within a large national health system with local autonomy. The mixed compensation model rewards both productivity and quality, and the facility's national rankings suggest strong institutional resources and case complexity.
