About this role

Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join its critical care team at a Level 1 Trauma Center. You would work inpatient shifts supported by two physicians, delivering emergency and intensive care across cardiovascular, neurologic, and trauma units. The role emphasizes procedural competency—central line placement, intubation, lumbar punctures—and the ability to execute rapid interventions in life-threatening situations within a well-resourced medical center that includes a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Burn Center.

This is a full-time employed position with an established team of eight advanced practice providers and no call structure, offering stability within Ascension's national health system while maintaining local autonomy. You'll have access to the full infrastructure of a flagship facility and a strong referral network. The role requires an Indiana RN license prior to hire, BLS certification within 30 days, and prescriptive authority credentialing within six months. A master's degree in nursing is required for NPs; PAs must be eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration.

The position suits experienced critical care providers who thrive in high-acuity environments and want procedural depth without the unpredictability of traditional call schedules. Ascension emphasizes physician-led collaboration and mission-centered care within a Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce.
