About this role

Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis is recruiting an Internal Medicine Hospitalist for a PRN role at an 800+ bed Level 1 Trauma Center with eight Centers of Excellence. You would manage a daily census of 15–16 patients in a closed ICU setting alongside dedicated intensivists and ICU staff, meaning your focus stays on general hospitalist care rather than critical care management. The facility anchors a large collaborative network of 80+ providers across multiple specialized units including a Burn Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Brain and Spine Hospital, offering consistent clinical exposure and the chance to develop or refresh procedural skills if interested.

The scheduling structure sets this role apart: shifts are published six months in advance with no minimum requirements, giving you genuine flexibility to pick up 12-hour day or night shifts as your life allows. You'll practice within an academic setting that hosts residency programs in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Anesthesia, plus fellowships in Cardiology and Critical Care, which keeps the clinical environment engaged and current.

Candidates must hold an MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine. Hospitalist experience is preferred but not required; the program will consider strong new graduates. Indiana medical licensure and Advanced Life Support certification are required prior to hire.
