About this role

Leading Ascension's sterile processing department in Milwaukee requires balancing operational excellence with strategic business management. You'll oversee sterilization quality and regulatory compliance across health system activities, direct scheduling and staffing, manage departmental budgets and vendor relationships, and drive cost-containment initiatives. The role demands hands-on leadership—resolving conflicts, developing staff, and traveling as needed to support operations—alongside administrative responsibilities like payroll and recruitment.

This position suits someone with a Central Service Tech credential in Sterile Processing (from HSPA or CBSPD, obtained within your first year) and a minimum of two to seven years of relevant experience depending on your education level. Leadership or management experience is preferred. You'll need flexibility for on-call coverage including evenings and weekends. If you're ready to move from technical sterile processing work into management while staying grounded in the clinical and regulatory details of the department, and you're committed to working within a mission-driven Catholic health system, this role offers the scope to shape both people and operations.
