About this role

Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis is seeking an Internal Medicine hospitalist for a part-time role at an 800+ bed Level 1 Trauma Center with eight Centers of Excellence. You would manage a daily census of 15–16 patients in a closed ICU setting where dedicated intensivists handle critical care, allowing you to focus on medical management without the procedural demands of traditional hospitalist work. The position offers genuine scheduling flexibility—rosters are published six months in advance, you stay with the same team during your 7-on blocks for continuity, and you can pick up additional 12-hour shifts as your lifestyle permits.

This is an ideal fit if you're an IM-trained physician seeking high-acuity clinical exposure without full-time commitment. You'll practice within an academic medical center hosting multiple residency and fellowship programs, keeping your skills sharp through diverse patient presentations. While prior hospitalist experience is valued, the team actively welcomes new graduates and will support your transition into the role. Procedural skills are optional; the team offers retraining for those interested but does not mandate them.

You must hold an MD or DO, be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, and have Indiana medical licensure in place by your hire date. Advanced Life Support certification is preferred.
