Description
- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

About this role
Ascension's ICU Float position in Nashville requires a registered nurse with active ICU experience to manage patient care across intensive care settings. You'll implement and monitor individualized care plans, track patient progress, communicate clinical updates to the care team, execute physician and nursing orders, and coordinate discharge planning with relevant healthcare disciplines. This is hands-on clinical work in a fast-paced environment where your assessments and coordination directly shape patient outcomes.
To qualify, you need current RN licensure from Tennessee's Board of Nursing, Advanced Life Support certification before your start date, and BLS certification within your first month. ICU experience is required, not preferred. You should hold a nursing diploma or degree from an accredited program.
