About this role
Ascension's Oncology Patient Navigator role bridges clinical care and patient support in Nashville, combining nursing expertise with care coordination across a large health system. You'd work at the intersection of multiple teams—clinicians, administrators, managed care partners, and community organizations—to ensure cancer patients receive coordinated treatment and access to resources, particularly those facing financial barriers. The position demands someone comfortable moving between strategic improvement work and direct patient advocacy.
The day-to-day involves tracking patient outcomes and operational data to identify improvement opportunities, coordinating comprehensive treatment plans, and connecting uninsured and underinsured patients with financial assistance and follow-up care. You'll also support clinical quality initiatives and staff education programs. This is a role for a registered nurse who thrives in cross-functional environments and sees value in both the clinical and administrative sides of care delivery.
You'll need an active RN license from Tennessee or a compact state, obtained before your start date. BLS certification is preferred. A nursing diploma or degree from an accredited program is required. The position is full-time and based in-office in Nashville.
