About this role
Ascension's Electroneurodiagnostics Technologist role in Indianapolis involves performing diagnostic testing using specialized neurological equipment including EEG, evoked potential, and polysomnography systems. You'll prepare equipment and supplies, review patient histories, educate patients about procedures, monitor their condition throughout testing, and then score, document, and report results. The work requires attention to technical detail—recognizing and correcting for artifacts is part of the daily responsibility—as well as direct patient interaction and communication with the clinical team about any adverse reactions.
To qualify, you need either a high school diploma with two years of relevant experience, an associate's or technical degree, or four years of directly applicable job experience. You'll also need BLS certification within your first month. Within two years of hire, you must obtain one of several ABRET credentials: Electroencephalographic Technician, Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring Technologist, Evoked Potential Technologist, or Nerve Conduction Study Technologist. Prior completion of an accredited neurodiagnostic program and at least one year of experience are preferred but not required.
This is a full-time, in-office position at a large nonprofit Catholic health system. It suits someone with a technical background in healthcare diagnostics or a willingness to develop that expertise, who is comfortable working with specialized equipment and can manage both the procedural and interpersonal aspects of patient care.
