About this role
Ascension's Nashville hospitalist program offers inpatient obstetric care within a well-resourced, recently expanded women's health facility serving a substantial regional population. You would join a small, established team of two physicians and two advanced practice providers, managing complex labor, delivery, and postpartum cases with rotating call coverage. The role is embedded in a large acute care system with integrated referral networks and recent infrastructure investments, including a new Women's Hospital Pavilion that opened in 2023.
The position emphasizes physician wellbeing as a structural priority rather than an individual concern. Ascension explicitly protects shift limits, offers flexible scheduling options, and provides administrative support designed to reduce burnout. This employed role within a nonprofit Catholic health system prioritizes long-term stability and local autonomy within a national network, appealing to clinicians seeking both practice security and mission-driven work.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO, be board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN, and be eligible for Tennessee medical licensure and DEA registration. This is a full-time, in-office position suited to physicians comfortable with high-volume inpatient obstetrics and collaborative team-based practice.
