About this role

Ascension's medical oncology chemotherapy nursing role in Indianapolis centers on direct patient care in a specialized, high-responsibility setting. You'll administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, manage vascular access devices like PICC lines and PortaCaths, monitor patients closely for side effects and reactions, and handle blood draws and infusion technology. The work demands strict adherence to protocols for safe handling of cytotoxic agents—this is detail-oriented, protocol-driven nursing in a clinical environment.

To qualify, you need an active Indiana RN license before your start date, BLS certification within your first month, and ONS chemotherapy certification within six months. A nursing diploma or degree from an accredited program is the baseline education requirement. If you don't yet hold ONS chemotherapy certification, you'll need to obtain it early in your tenure, so readiness to pursue that credential is important.

This is a full-time, in-office position at Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system. The organization emphasizes an inclusive workplace culture and is recognized as a military-friendly employer and a top healthcare workplace.
