About this role
Ascension's Registered Nurse Education role in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit focuses on building and sustaining clinical competency across the nursing staff. You would assess educational needs, design and implement nursing development programs, and evaluate whether learning goals are being met—working closely with unit leaders and clinical teams to ensure nurses practice at the full scope of their licensure.
This position suits someone with a strong foundation in cardiovascular critical care nursing who genuinely enjoys teaching and has some experience leading or mentoring others. You'll need an active Indiana RN license and BLS certification, along with a nursing diploma from an accredited program. The role draws on clinical expertise to inform educational strategy rather than requiring formal training credentials in education itself, making it a natural step for an experienced CVICU nurse ready to shape practice standards across the organization.
