About this role
Ascension's renal nursing role in Nashville centers on delivering specialized dialysis care across both peritoneal and hemodialysis modalities, with direct responsibility for patient safety, treatment accuracy, and complication monitoring. You'll work with renal patients primarily, though the position also involves general medical nursing care, and a significant portion of your time goes to patient and family education—teaching people how to manage their conditions and recognize warning signs that require medical attention.
The role requires a Tennessee RN license before your start date and BLS certification within your first month. While a nursing diploma or equivalent is the baseline requirement, Ascension prefers candidates with at least six months of acute care experience, which would help you transition into the specialized demands of dialysis nursing. This is a full-time, in-office position within a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce and maintaining a collaborative care environment.
