About this role

Ascension's cardiovascular operating room in Milwaukee is seeking a registered nurse to manage both scrub and circulating responsibilities during complex cardiac surgical procedures. You would handle instrument and supply management during surgery, monitor and document patient status, assist physicians and anesthesia with line access and intubation, and prepare the OR environment and equipment. This is a full-time, in-office role that demands strong technical proficiency, quick decision-making, and seamless collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia teams.

You'll need a Wisconsin RN license and current BLS certification (obtained within 30 days of hire), plus ALS certification within six months. The role strongly prefers candidates with at least two years of recent cardiovascular OR experience in an acute care setting, along with demonstrated competency in perioperative nursing standards, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols. Success here depends on excellent communication, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-stakes surgical environment.
