About this role

Ascension's OR float pool in Nashville offers operating room nursing across multiple surgical specialties, requiring you to adapt quickly between different procedural environments. You'll work full-time with a flexible schedule, moving between spine, cardiac, joints, plastics, robotics, general, and gynecological cases. The role demands strong foundational OR skills—sterile field management, patient monitoring, equipment preparation, and coordination with surgical teams—rather than deep expertise in any single specialty.

You'll need an active Tennessee RN license (or compact state license) before your start date, along with BLS certification within 30 days and ALS certification within 180 days of hire. Previous OR experience is preferred, particularly in any of the specialties Ascension operates, though the float pool structure means you're expected to function competently across different surgical environments. This position suits nurses who thrive in varied, fast-paced settings and want scheduling flexibility without committing to a single OR department.
