About this role

Ascension's Nashville paramedic role centers on delivering critical care during patient transport, working alongside physicians and nurses to stabilize and treat the most acutely ill and injured. You'll initiate life-support protocols, maintain ongoing communication about patient status, and take responsibility for equipment maintenance and team safety. Beyond clinical intervention, the position emphasizes patient and family education—clearly communicating medical conditions and treatment plans so people understand what's happening and feel supported through a crisis.

To qualify, you'll need a Tennessee paramedic license and valid driver's license before your start date, along with BLS certification within your first month and ALS certification within six months. The baseline education requirement is a high school diploma plus two years of relevant experience, though an associate's or technical degree, or four years of direct paramedic experience, also satisfy the threshold. This is a full-time, in-office position within Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce and recognized as a top healthcare employer.
