About this role

Ascension's renal nursing role in Nashville combines dialysis delivery with broader medical nursing care. You'll work in-office as a full-time RN managing both peritoneal and hemodialysis patients, monitoring for complications, and ensuring treatments meet clinical standards. Beyond dialysis, you'll provide nursing care to renal and non-renal patients, drawing on a range of clinical skills to support diverse patient needs.

A significant part of the role involves patient and family education—teaching families how to support their loved ones' care at home and recognize warning signs that require medical attention. This teaching component means you'll need strong communication skills and the ability to translate clinical information into practical guidance for people managing chronic illness.

You'll need an RN license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing before your start date and BLS certification within your first month. While six months of acute care nursing experience is preferred, the core requirement is your nursing credential and readiness to learn dialysis protocols on the job. Ascension describes itself as a nonprofit Catholic health system with emphasis on service and inclusive workplace culture.
