About this role
Ascension's renal nursing role in Nashville combines specialized dialysis care with broader medical nursing responsibilities. You'd work with both peritoneal and hemodialysis patients, managing treatments, monitoring for complications, and teaching patients and families how to recognize warning signs and manage care at home. The position also includes nursing support for non-renal patients, so you'll draw on a range of clinical skills rather than focusing exclusively on one patient population.
The role requires an active RN license from the Tennessee Board of Nursing at hire and BLS certification within your first month. While six months of acute care nursing experience is preferred, it's not stated as a strict requirement. This is a full-time, in-office position within Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system recognized for workplace culture and support. If you have your RN credentials and some acute care background, this could be a solid entry point into specialized renal nursing.
