About this role

Ascension's Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor role in Chicago combines clinical practice with operational leadership. You would manage shift activities and resources while overseeing associate training and performance, requiring you to balance direct behavioral health work with supervisory responsibilities. The position demands current Illinois licensure—either as a Clinical Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor—obtained before your start date.

To qualify, you'll need a Master's degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science, or Psychology along with LCPC or LCSW licensure. Your background should include either a high school diploma plus two years of relevant experience, an associate degree plus one year of experience, or five years of direct job-specific experience. Prior leadership in community support and outreach is preferred, and BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is a plus. This full-time, in-office role suits someone with established clinical credentials who is ready to take on supervisory duties within a large nonprofit health system.
