About this role

Ascension's Milwaukee NICU is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care and coordinate care delivery across disciplines for critically ill newborns. You'll implement and monitor individualized care plans, communicate patient status to the healthcare team, execute physician and nursing orders, and help prepare families for discharge. This is hands-on clinical work that requires you to be both a skilled bedside nurse and an effective communicator among multiple providers.

To qualify, you must hold an active Wisconsin RN license (or multi-state compact license) and obtain BLS certification within your first month. The role strongly prefers candidates with a bachelor's degree in nursing and at least one year of Level 3 NICU experience, though the core requirement is an RN credential and nursing diploma or degree. Additional neonatal certifications—the S.T.A.B.L.E Program and Neonatal Resuscitation from the American Academy of Pediatrics—are preferred but not required at hire.

This is a full-time, in-office position within Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system. The organization emphasizes a supportive workplace culture and is recognized as a military-friendly employer.
