About this role

Ascension's Indianapolis cardiovascular unit is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to blend direct patient care with leadership and evidence-based practice development. You'll work across the care continuum—providing advanced nursing care, consulting with clinical staff on program and practice improvements, and driving research initiatives that support best practices in cardiovascular nursing. The role also includes designing and delivering educational programs for both staff and patients, positioning you as a clinical expert and mentor within the department.

This position requires a Master's degree in nursing and current RN licensure, along with one of several CNS or RN credentials (to be obtained within your first year if not already held). You'll need three to five years of direct cardiovascular nursing experience and a background in teaching or leadership. The role demands flexibility—you'll support staff across day, night, and weekend shifts as needed. Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system, emphasizes a collaborative culture and offers the stability of a well-established organization recognized for workplace quality and military-friendly practices.
