About this role

Leading the operating room at an Ascension facility in Nashville requires balancing clinical oversight with people management and fiscal responsibility. You'll direct all nursing workflows and resource allocation across the OR, troubleshoot operational issues in real time, and ensure the unit delivers safe, efficient patient care while meeting regulatory standards. This means staying deeply involved in the day-to-day while also stepping back to see the bigger picture of how the unit functions.

On the staffing side, you'll own the full cycle—recruiting, onboarding, developing, and evaluating your nursing team while building a professional environment where people want to work. Financially, you'll monitor and manage the departmental budget, approve expenditures, and keep the unit compliant with accreditation requirements. The role demands a Tennessee-licensed RN (or compact state license) with at least three years of nursing experience, including one year in a leadership capacity. You'll need current BLS certification within your first month if not already held.

This position suits an experienced nurse ready to move into management, comfortable with both clinical and administrative demands, and committed to Ascension's mission-driven approach to healthcare. It's a full-time, in-office role at a large nonprofit health system recognized for workplace culture and support.
