About this role
Ascension's Nashville cardiovascular operating room is seeking a certified surgical technologist to support complex surgical procedures in a full-time, in-office role. You'll manage the operating suite from setup through completion—preparing sterile fields, organizing instruments, tracking counts, and handing instruments to surgeons during procedures. The work also includes patient preparation, positioning, and draping, requiring both technical precision and the ability to anticipate surgeon needs in a fast-paced environment.
You'll need current NBSTSA certification and BLS Provider certification (obtained within 30 days of hire). Tennessee allows some flexibility for applicants without current credentials if you have 18 months of surgical technologist experience within the three years before May 2007, or began training before that date and completed it by 2010. On the education side, you'll need either a high school diploma plus two years of relevant experience, an associate's or technical degree, or four years of directly applicable job experience.
Ascension is a large nonprofit Catholic health system with 99,000+ associates. They emphasize an inclusive workplace culture and are recognized as a Military-Friendly Gold Employer and one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare.
