About this role
Ascension's Outpatient Cardiology Clinical Specialty Pharmacist role centers on delivering medication expertise in a high-acuity outpatient setting in Nashville. You would work directly with cardiologists and clinical teams to optimize drug therapy for complex patients, review orders for safety issues, and serve as the go-to consultant for real-time drug information and formulary decisions. The position also involves leading pharmacy technicians and mentoring pharmacy students, making it ideal for someone ready to shape clinical practice beyond direct patient care.
This role requires a Tennessee pharmacy license and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, with strong preference for a PGY-2 residency in Cardiology or Ambulatory Care—or equivalent clinic management experience under a collaborative practice agreement. You'll need the clinical judgment to work independently in a consultant capacity while managing a small team. If you're a pharmacist looking to deepen your specialty practice in cardiology while taking on leadership and teaching responsibilities, this full-time, in-office position at a large nonprofit health system offers that opportunity.
