About this role
Ascension's Surgical Technologist role in Nashville demands someone who thrives in the operating room as an extension of the surgical team. You'll work in close partnership with surgeons, reading the rhythm of procedures and positioning instruments and supplies before they're requested. This requires the kind of anticipatory focus and organizational precision that makes the difference between smooth operations and delays—you own the sterile field and bear responsibility for 100% accuracy in counts and instrument management throughout each case.
The position requires current NBSTSA certification and BLS Provider status (obtainable within 30 days of hire). Tennessee's credentialing rules allow some flexibility for experienced technologists, but the baseline expectation is either an associate or technical degree plus relevant experience, or four years of direct surgical tech work. You'll be part of Ascension's large nonprofit Catholic health system, which emphasizes service and inclusive workplace culture. This is a full-time, in-office role where patient safety and clinical excellence are non-negotiable.
