About this role
Serif Biomedicines is seeking someone to be the operational backbone of its early-stage gene therapy lab in Cambridge. As a Laboratory Operations Associate, you'd split your time between building out sample management and inventory systems for the CMC team, keeping the lab running smoothly day-to-day, and helping onboard new team members as the company grows. The work spans hands-on equipment maintenance (decontamination protocols on cytometers and Fragment Analyzers, freezer defrosts, pipette calibrations), coordinating procurement of reagents and consumables, and organizing material handoffs across teams—all while staying organized in a space that's getting tighter as the company expands.
This role suits someone with at least two years of bench or lab operations experience who's ready to step into a more management-focused position. You'll need a BS in biology, chemistry, or a related field, solid hands-on familiarity with cytometers and analytical instruments, and the ability to communicate clearly across scientists and operations leadership. Experience with Benchling (particularly Workflows and Inventory) or other LIMS platforms is valuable but not required. The position is full-time and in-office in Cambridge, with a salary range of $72,000 to $99,000.
