About this role
Ascension's school clinic in Indianapolis is seeking a registered nurse to provide specialized, continuous care for a student with a tracheostomy throughout the school day. This is hands-on clinical work centered on one student's safety and comfort, requiring close monitoring, precise execution of medical orders, and careful documentation of any health changes. You'll be the primary clinical presence ensuring this student's wellbeing while they attend school.
Beyond direct patient care, you'll coordinate with physicians, specialists, and school staff to keep the care plan cohesive and responsive to the student's needs. The role also involves planning ahead for transitions and discharge to support the student's long-term health and academic success. This position demands a current Indiana RN license and BLS certification (required within 30 days of hire), with pediatric nursing experience preferred.
If you're drawn to meaningful one-on-one patient relationships, thrive in a school-based setting, and have experience with complex pediatric needs, this full-time in-office role offers the chance to make a direct difference in a student's daily life and educational experience.
