About this role
Working as a Patient Care Technician in the Medical-Surgical Oncology unit at Ascension's Milwaukee location means supporting patients through some of their most vulnerable moments. You'll handle direct patient care—assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily activities—while maintaining clean, safe patient rooms and monitoring medical equipment. A key part of the role is observing patients closely and reporting any changes in their physical, mental, or emotional condition to the nursing staff, along with documenting relevant records.
The position requires Wisconsin state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and current listing in the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry before your start date. You'll also need to obtain BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within your first month. A high school diploma or equivalent is the minimum education requirement, though relevant healthcare experience can substitute. This is a full-time, in-office role at a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce and fostering an inclusive environment.
