About this role

Ascension's PICU Clinical Lead role in Austin combines direct patient care leadership with unit-level operational oversight. You would draw on at least three years of pediatric intensive care experience and two years in charge nurse positions to manage daily operations, coordinate staffing and resources, mentor clinical staff, and serve as the primary point for resolving care-related concerns. The position requires balancing high-acuity specialty care delivery with the administrative demands of a large hospital system.

The role suits an experienced PICU nurse ready to step into formal leadership without leaving bedside expertise entirely behind. You'll need current RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing before your start date and BLS certification within your first month. Ascension, a large nonprofit Catholic health system, emphasizes a culture centered on service and connection, and positions itself as an inclusive employer with recognition as a Military-Friendly Gold Employer.
