About this role

Ascension's Indianapolis inpatient pharmacy role centers on clinical medication management within a hospital setting. You would review medication orders to catch and resolve drug-related problems, recommend formulary alternatives, and compound and dispense medications for patients. A significant part of the work involves direct communication with physicians and clinical staff to support patient care decisions, as well as counseling patients on their medications and educating medical staff on drug information.

The position also includes supervisory responsibilities—you would oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff in their preparation and dispensing work. There's flexibility built in, as you may float to cover pharmacy needs across the facility. If interested in teaching, you'd have opportunities to serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students.

You'll need an Indiana pharmacy license obtained within 90 days of your start date, a bachelor's or advanced degree in pharmacy, and ideally either a PGY1 residency or prior hospital pharmacy experience. This is a full-time, in-office role at a large nonprofit Catholic health system.
