About this role

Ascension's critical care respiratory therapy role in Indianapolis centers on designing and managing individualized respiratory protocols for acute patients, with responsibility for advanced equipment operation, treatment assessment, and detailed clinical documentation. You'll evaluate how well interventions meet established outcomes and educate patients and families on their conditions while connecting them to community resources. The position requires active participation in code teams and emergency response.

To qualify, you'll need Indiana respiratory care licensure before your start date and BLS certification within your first month. The RRT credential from NBRC must be obtained within a year of hire. While an associate degree or high school diploma with two years of experience meets the baseline education requirement, the role strongly prefers candidates who already hold RRT status and have worked in ICU, trauma, or emergency settings. Additional certifications in advanced life support and neonatal resuscitation are preferred but not required at hire.

This is a full-time, in-person position within a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce and recognized as a military-friendly employer.
