About this role
Ascension's Clinical Development role in Surgery and Operating Room nursing focuses on building and strengthening the educational infrastructure that supports clinical competency across the organization. You would work with nursing leaders and frontline staff to identify learning needs, then design, implement, and evaluate educational programs and performance standards that enable nurses to practice at the full scope of their licensure. This combines assessment, program development, and measurement—requiring both clinical credibility and instructional capability.
The position calls for a registered nurse with at least three years of operating room or surgery center experience, ideally with some teaching background. You'll need your RN license from Indiana prior to hire, a nursing diploma from an accredited program, and BLS certification within your first month. A BSN is preferred. This is a full-time, in-office role at Ascension's Indianapolis location, part of a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting professional development and creating inclusive workplaces.
