About this role
Ascension's Milwaukee respiratory care team is seeking a practitioner who can manage the full scope of patient respiratory support—from initial clinical assessment and care planning through equipment maintenance and emergency response. You'll evaluate patients across different diagnoses, adjust treatment modalities as needed, monitor vital conditions continuously, and be ready to respond to resuscitation calls. Beyond direct care, you'll educate patients and families on their conditions and available resources, and oversee the calibration and sterilization of departmental equipment.
To qualify, you need Wisconsin state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner before your hire date, plus BLS certification within your first month. An Associate's or technical degree paired with two years of experience meets the education requirement, though four years of directly applicable experience can substitute. Advanced certifications in life support and neonatal resuscitation are preferred but not required. This is a full-time, in-office position within a large nonprofit Catholic health system known for supporting its workforce and recognized as a top healthcare employer.
